My idea of a pleasant detour often involves a small bookshop and a place to sit with a coffee. I enjoy stories with complicated characters, walks through unfamiliar streets, and cooking with music on in the background. I keep a short reading list, although an unexpected recommendation often changes it. I am happy when getting to know someone feels gradual, easy, and unforced.
