I notice the small things: a thoughtful message, a beautiful old building, or a song played at the right moment. I enjoy a conversation that wanders from an interesting idea to an ordinary detail of someone's day. I like making room for a new interest without feeling that I need to become an expert in it. A little thoughtfulness usually means more to me than a grand gesture.
