An afternoon exploring a neighbourhood is often my favourite excuse to try somewhere new for lunch. A simple meal made well often impresses me more than a long menu and a lot of ceremony. I tend to notice the small touches that make a place feel comfortable, from friendly service to a quiet table. I appreciate people who are open to a suggestion and comfortable making one of their own.
