My idea of a pleasant detour often involves a small bookshop and a place to sit with a coffee. I like places where you can actually hear each other, and evenings that end with a good film. I usually remember a thoughtful conversation long after I have forgotten what was on the menu. I appreciate people who can be thoughtful without taking themselves too seriously.
