An afternoon exploring a neighbourhood is often my favourite excuse to try somewhere new for lunch. I enjoy comparing notes on favourite dishes rather than pretending there is one perfect place for everyone. I tend to notice the small touches that make a place feel comfortable, from friendly service to a quiet table. I bring plenty of enthusiasm, but I'm just as happy when the evening slows down.
