I like exploring a place through its food, its small streets, and the places people recommend without making a fuss. I often remember a place because of the conversation I had there as much as the food. I usually keep a few places on a list, then choose whatever suits the mood of the day. A sense of curiosity and a little flexibility make exploring together much more enjoyable.
