A long walk, a small backpack, and a day without a timetable suit me well. I appreciate people who can enjoy the journey without turning every outing into a challenge. A flask of something warm and an extra layer are often all I need for a simple afternoon out. A shared sense of wonder can make a very ordinary walk memorable.
