I am happiest with plans that leave enough time to cook, talk, and enjoy being in the same place. A trip to the market can inspire a whole evening, and I rarely follow a recipe without changing at least one thing. I like slowing down enough to enjoy small routines, from setting the table to making the first cup of the morning. I don't confuse a quiet life with a dull one; there are plenty of things to enjoy without rushing.
