My idea of a pleasant detour often involves a small bookshop and a place to sit with a coffee. A little silence does not make me uncomfortable; sometimes it is the nicest part of being together. I keep a short reading list, although an unexpected recommendation often changes it. I value kindness, a dry sense of humour, and being comfortable enough to say what you mean.
