I love a home that feels lived in: something cooking, music playing, and a comfortable place to sit. I usually cook with music on and tidy up a little as I go, although baking can undo all my good intentions. I usually choose recipes that leave time for conversation rather than keeping me busy until the last moment. I don't confuse a quiet life with a dull one; there are plenty of things to enjoy without rushing.
