My idea of a pleasant detour often involves a small bookshop and a place to sit with a coffee. I enjoy a conversation that wanders from an interesting idea to an ordinary detail of someone's day. My evenings are often simple: a warm drink, a few pages, and a little music in the background. A little thoughtfulness usually means more to me than a grand gesture.
