I like getting to know a place through its small cafes, busy markets, and the things people recommend. I often remember a place because of the conversation I had there as much as the food. I like leaving a little room in the plan for a pastry, a second coffee, or a place we happen to discover. I bring plenty of enthusiasm, but I'm just as happy when the evening slows down.
