I like getting to know a place through its small cafes, busy markets, and the things people recommend. I tend to remember a place by what I ate there, who I was with, and the conversation on the way home. If the day has been busy, an easy dinner and a chance to talk are usually more appealing than a big event. A sense of curiosity and a little flexibility make exploring together much more enjoyable.
