I'm drawn to places with a bit of character, whether that's a little cinema or a room with a piano in the corner. Some evenings are for going out to hear something live; others are for cooking at home with an album playing from start to finish. Small venues and relaxed settings often make it easier for me to settle into the experience. I don't mind a difference of opinion when there's curiosity on both sides.
