My idea of a pleasant detour often involves a small bookshop and a place to sit with a coffee. I take my coffee seriously, keep a small list of books to read, and rarely leave a gallery without finding a favourite. I usually remember a thoughtful conversation long after I have forgotten what was on the menu. I appreciate company that leaves room for both conversation and comfortable pauses.
