I like collecting recommendations from people who can explain why a book stayed with them. I enjoy stories with complicated characters, walks through unfamiliar streets, and cooking with music on in the background. A rainy day is a good excuse to make tea and finally open the book I have been saving. A little thoughtfulness usually means more to me than a grand gesture.
