I am happiest with plans that leave enough time to cook, talk, and enjoy being in the same place. I usually cook with music on and tidy up a little as I go, although baking can undo all my good intentions. I enjoy having a few people over when there is time to settle in and let the conversation find its own pace. For me, comfort comes from feeling welcome rather than from having everything arranged perfectly.
