An afternoon exploring a neighbourhood is often my favourite excuse to try somewhere new for lunch. I tend to remember a place by what I ate there, who I was with, and the conversation on the way home. I tend to notice the small touches that make a place feel comfortable, from friendly service to a quiet table. I bring plenty of enthusiasm, but I'm just as happy when the evening slows down.
